One of the most common attempts to explain away the resurrection is called the swoon theory. It claims Jesus did not actually die on the cross. But that theory falls apart quickly. Roman crucifixion was designed to kill. Jesus was beaten, nailed to a cross, struggled to breathe, and then a Roman soldier pierced His side with a spear to confirm He was dead. Even if someone asks this honestly, the answer is clear: Jesus did not survive the crucifixion. He truly died.
