The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!”

John the Baptist names Jesus with two words that carry the whole Old Testament. *Lamb* recalls Passover, Isaac, and Isaiah's silent servant. The sentence reads like the Bible folding itself shut on a key.
