About Building Faith David Jeremaiah
r. David Jeremiah is an American evangelical Christian pastor, author, and broadcaster, best known as the founder of Turning Point Ministries and senior pastor of Shadow Mountain Community Church in El Cajon, California. Born on February 13, 1941, in Toledo, Ohio, he grew up in a Christian family under the influence of his father, Dr. James T. Jeremiah, who served as president of Cedarville College.
David Jeremiah earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Cedarville University in 1963, a Master of Theology from Dallas Theological Seminary in 1967, and later received an honorary Doctor of Divinity. In 1969, he founded Blackhawk Baptist Church in Fort Wayne, Indiana, where he also established Blackhawk Christian School. In 1981, he accepted the call to become pastor of Shadow Mountain Community Church, where he has since led the church to become one of the largest in Southern California.
