Mecca and the Qur'an's Geography are ALL WRONG!

Jay begins this episode by asking the question concerning why we even need to go into this kinds of historical research, and responds with 5 responses: 1) The historical critique, such as questioning the historicity of Mecca, confronts the very foundations of Islam, since without the city of Mecca, the Islamic story of mankind falls to pieces. 2) It is a totally neutral critique, in that it is not a Christian polemic against Islam, because the historical questions we are posing can be asked by anyone, and should be asked, as they are the very same questions which have already been posed against Christianity since the 19th century. 3) Because these are historical questions, they are 'Politically Correct', in that no one can say Jay is a "hate preacher" nor an "Islamophobe" for posing them, since he is not attacking any Muslims, nor is he "phobic" (in fear) of Islam. 4) Because he is using pictures, graphs and maps, this critique is much more easy to grasp and simple to communicate, since it is almost all visual, and not dependent on difficult to understand ideas, theologies, or philosophies. 5) Finally, this critique is best handled by Christians, because we understand the historical critique better than anyone else, as we have had it leveled at us and our Lord and our revelation since the mid-19th century. What's more, we are the only ones who have the best antidote, the best alternative, and thus the best answers. Jay, then goes into the geographical problems with the Qur'an itself. To begin with, there are only 65 geographical references in the Qur'an, and only 9 places named, which is rather odd for a book which includes 6,236 verses! As a comparison, when we look at the Gospel of Luke, which has 1,151 verses (thus, only 1/6th the size of the Qur'an), it has 110 geographical references, compared with only 65 in the entire Qur'an, and while there are 31 places named in the Gospel of Luke, only 9 are named in the Qur'an. Despite the Gospel of Luke referencing almost twice as many geographical places, every one of its references are correct, while in comparison, the Qur'an's geographical references are ALL incorrect! Take for instance the 3 most common places named in the Qur'an, the area of Ad (who are the people of Uz in the Bible), referred to 23 times; the area of Thamud (who are the Nabataeans in the Bible) referred to 24 times; and the the area of Midian (who are the Midianites in the Bible), referred to 7 times.
