Too Many Orthodox Converts!

The Orthodox Church in the US is experiencing a simultaneous pair of pressures -- a convert surge and a clergy shortage. What does this mean for parish life? And more importantly, what can we do about it right now? I give 8 suggestions. A quick summary: 1. Volunteer in your parish. 2. Encourage your priest and his wife. 3. Be patient. 4. Do some mentoring yourself. 5. Men who are mature and stable in the faith, consider talking to your priest about the diaconate. 6. Tithe. 7. If you are the wife, mother, father, brother, or sister (etc.) of a man who is stable, loving, reliable, kind, and patient, consider encouraging him to talk with the local pastor about ordination. 8. Above all, pray. -- QUESTIONS ABOUT ORTHODOX CHRISTIANITY / HELP FINDING A PARISH: https://www.orthodoxintro.org/ MORE INFO ON ME: http://andrewstephendamick.com MY BOOKS: https://store.ancientfaith.com/fr-andrew-stephen-damick/ BOOK ME FOR YOUR EVENT: See email in channel description.
