'O Holy Night' by Josh Malone (AKA Lovejoy)

O Holy Night, an abolitionist hymn. Singer and songwriter Josh Malone (Lovejoy) retranslated and added to the classic hymn, O Holy Night, to better capture the theology of the original French. Churches of the past would sing this hymn in protest of the peculiar and evil institution of slavery. Today, churches are singing an updated song in protest of the evil of the age, abortion. Join us in repenting of abortion apathy and sing with your church the updated and more accurate O Holy Night! O holy night, the eve of restoration, Tonight the pure Lamb of God has come to earth. Born to erase our fatherʼs imputation, To cleanse the Church, and at last to break the curse. O glorious Hope, our God as babe dependent Has come to bear our sin upon the tree. Fall on your knees! Behold your just atonement! The Christ has come, His people to redeem! The Christ has come, His people to redeem! New infant borne, named from the womb of Mary, The long-awaited yet unexpected Son. Though in disgrace Unique Begotten bearing, With joy the virgin conceives the Holy One! All fruit of womb who bear Godʼs image, praise Him; And save from death those babes to slaughter led. Leap, leap for joy! Firstborn of New Creation! Abolished Death by adopting helpless souls! The Son adopts wretched foes as royal sons Truly He taught us to love one another; His Law is love and his Gospel is peace. Chains shall He break for the slave is our brother And in His Name all oppression shall cease. Sweet hymns of joy in grateful chorus raise we, Let all within us praise His holy Name! Christ is the Lord! O praise His name forever! His powʼr and glory evermore proclaim! His powʼr and glory evermore proclaim!
