The Dead Dog Mentality

There is a lie that so many Christians are carrying right now and most of them do not even realize it. It sounds like this. God could never use me after what I have done. If people really knew who I was they would never fully love me. I do not deserve happiness. I do not deserve forgiveness. I am too far gone. Mephibosheth called himself a dead dog. He was convinced he was worthless and undeserving of anything good. But David did not see a dead dog. And no matter how Mephibosheth saw himself it did not change what David was about to do for him. God does not wait for you to feel worthy before He calls you a son or a daughter. You are not too far gone. You never were.
