I wanted so badly to include these words in this collection of songs. In Psalm 103, King David quotes God Himself when He described Himself to Moses... In Exodus 33, Moses asks God to show him His glory. God prepares Moses for what will happen the next day. Then God hid Moses in the cleft of a rock and passed before him declaring His Name. His reputation: "ADONAI, ADONAI, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love (Hesed) and truth..." Moses quickly bowed his head and worshiped. David picks up these most inspired lyrics and sings them in the 103rd Psalm. My friend Michael Card describes "Hesed" (steadfast love) as this: "When the one from whom I deserve nothing...gives me everything." This is the nature of our relationship with the LORD God. We deserved nothing.
