Manuel proves at Speaker's Corner that Jesus (Yahweh) is greater than Allah!

Our fifth ladder speaker at the Corner on June 9th, 2024 was Manuel, from Italy. Like the others, he had never been on the ladder before, and so was nervous to try it out in front of a large crowd. But he really didn't need to fear as he was superb, starting with the view that both Jesus and Yahweh were superior to Allah. He and Jay began by asking the Muslims present whether both Yahweh and Allah were the same, to which they agreed. Jay immediately shook their hand affirming their assertion that by equating the two they were finally admitting that Allah could enter time and space, that he was both God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, that he died on the cross, and that he had a son. The Muslim, however, couldn't agree to any of those 4 assertions, proving that Allah was not the same at all, since those 4 areas not only defined our God, Yahweh, but showed the four most important differences between our two gods. From there they went to the word itself...'Allah', asking the Muslim what it meant, to which he replied that it meant powerful, which they pointed out was not the meaning at all. Allah was nothing than the generic title which means "the god", a title which any god could use for himself...but what was Allah's personal name? The Muslims couldn't answer, so Manuel and Jay then asked what the name for God in the Bible was, which as we all know is "Yahweh" (or Jehovah, depending on where you put the vowels). This is God's holy, personal, eternal, and unique name, used by every prophet 6,823 times in the Old Testament, and used by Jesus himself in John 8:28, suggesting pretty clearly that this is the name everyone and especially every prophet of God should know and use to define him. So Manuel and Jay asked the Muslims where this personal name for God, Yahweh, was found in the Qur'an, or in the Traditions, to which the Muslims had to admit that it was nowhere to be found. This, then begs the question why Muhammad, whom they consider is the seal of the prophet, and supposedly the greatest of all prophets, didn't know or use this name? From there Manuel and Jay went to the Trinity, suggesting that the names for Allah in the Qur'an (i.e. al rahman, the compassionate one, al raheem, the merciful one, and al Wadud, the loving one) were all relational names, in that in order to make any sense there has to be an object of their compassion, mercy and love; otherwise these names make no sense, and cannot, therefore by Allah's eternal names which define him; because where was the object of his compassion, mercy and love before Adam and Eve were created? In order to understand those 3 names (or as Muslims like to call them his attributes), you will have to come back to the God of the Bible, who is triune, which means that within his triune nature he has always had compassion, mercy and love because the triune godhead provided the object for all three...and we humans who are created in his image also are therefore compassionate, merciful and loving, which explains then why we are all social and relational creatures, because our God has always been social and relational within the triune godhead. Muslims, however, cannot go to their god, Allah, to explain why they are relational, or loving. They will need to come home to our God, the triune God to even understand who they are, which means they are going to have to come home to Jesus, the truly compassionate, merciful and loving one. © Pfander Centre for Apologetics & Polemics - US, June 16, 2024 (106,990)
