The Minneapolis Somali Billion $ Fraud may not be going to where they say!

In October of this year I was in Nairobi, Kenya, and was with a few Christian Kenyan brothers who work with the nearly 100,000 Somalis in that city. While we were driving around they pointed out quite a number of very large and very new high-rise buildings being built, all by Somalis, including the largest mall in East Africa, in the Eastleigh neighborhood, which is where most of the Somalis live, also run and owned by Somalis. I asked my hosts where all the money was coming from for all these very large and very new buildings, and they said that it was common knowledge that the money was coming from Somalis living in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA. I was shocked, as I had just been in the Somali community in Minneapolis in July, and it looked run-down and very poor. I also knew that 87% of Somalis living in the USA were on Welfare; so, how could they afford such expensive and lavish buildings which were sprouting up all over Nairobi? When I returned to the US in November, I found that the news was reporting 3 large fraud investigations which were just coming to light in Minneapolis which all involved Somalis living in that city, including: 1) The "FEEDING OUR FUTURE" fund which was set up during Covid to help feed disadvantaged children, primarily from the Somali community. In the last 5 years $300 million was taken by 78 Somalis from that fund and sent 'somewhere', but not to the children who needed it. Of that 78 there have been 56 convictions so far. 2) The "AUTISM PROVIDERS PROGRAM" which was set up to provide for Autistic children, again primarily from the Somali community. In its initial year (2018) there were 41 providers who were given $1 million. By 2024 the number of providers jumped 700% to 328 providers, and since its inception these providers have been given over $220 million by the Minnesota government! 3) The 'HOUSING STABILIZATION FUND" which was money set aside for the housing needs of those who were in poverty, which again were primarily the Somali community. In 2020 $2.6 million was allocated to that fund. In 2021 that fund jumped to $21 million; in 2022 it increased to $42 million; in 2023 to $74 million, and in 2024 it jumped to $104 million. So, in the last 5 years 21,000 Somalis have now been given $304 million, but almost all of it has been sent somewhere outside of Minneapolis, but where? In total, the Minnesota government, headed up by Tim Walz, has given the Somali community in Minneapolis almost $1 Billion in the last 5 years. At least that is the figure which has been discovered so far. The federal government is now investigating this enormous fraud, the larges in the entire country, and according to the latest reports, the amount of fraud from the Somali community alone could possibly reach as high as $9-10 Billion! And were is all that money going? Certainly not to the Somalis living in Minneapolis, as they are mostly on welfare, and living in squalid conditions. It seems that the more industrious Somalis are taking this money which was meant for those in need, and are sending it to relatives overseas; yet, not to Somali-land, which is unruly and despotic, but possibly to Nairobi, Kenya...at least that is what the bricks and cement seem to be telling us. © Pfander Centre for Apologetics & Polemics - US, December 24, 2025 (126,800)
