Day 109 | 1 Samuel 30:1-31; 1 Chronicles 12:20-22; 1 Samuel 31:1-13; 1 Chronicles 10:1-14; 1 Chronicles 9:40-44; 2 Samuel 4:4; 2 Samuel 1:1-27
We witness a powerful contrast between David and Saul. After discovering their camp raided and families taken, David seeks the Lord’s direction before acting—a habit that defines his leadership. Meanwhile, Saul’s tragic reign comes to an end as he falls in battle, ultimately taking his own life. When David hears of Saul’s death, he responds not with celebration but with mourning, honoring Saul as the Lord’s anointed and grieving his dear friend Jonathan. This chapter invites us to reflect on what it means to wait on God’s timing, honor those in authority, and allow God to fight our battles.
