Most Christians have been taught that demons are fallen angels — the third of heaven that fell with Lucifer. That is the most common answer in every Sunday school class, every Christian podcast, and every deliverance ministry in the world. And Wise Disciple — featuring the scholarship of Dr. Michael Heiser — just spent 23 minutes showing why that answer is only half the story. In this video I'm reacting to this extraordinary 881000 view teaching and connecting every single discovery to what the Bible actually says about the nature and origin of demons. Because here is what Wise Disciple and Michael Heiser make clear from the biblical text that most Christians have never been taught. The Bible never explicitly says that demons are fallen angels. That connection — which most Christians treat as settled doctrine — is actually an inference drawn from a small number of texts that do not directly equate the two categories. And when you look at the behavioral differences between what the Bible calls demons and what it calls fallen angels the distinction becomes extremely significant. Fallen angels — the Watchers — are described in 2 Peter 2 and Jude as currently imprisoned in Tartarus in chains of darkness awaiting judgment. They are not roaming the earth. They are locked up. But demons roam. They seek embodiment. They beg not to be sent to the abyss. They wander through waterless places. That is not a description of a being that has a spiritual body. That is a description of something that lost its physical body and is desperately seeking another one. And the most biblically defensible explanation — the one Michael Heiser defends from the Book of Enoch, the Dead Sea Scrolls, and the Second Temple Jewish literature that the New Testament authors were reading — is that demons are the disembodied spirits of the Nephilim. The hybrid offspring of the Watchers and human women who died in the flood but whose spirits were neither fully human enough for Sheol nor fully angelic enough for the heavenly realm. This connects directly to everything your channel has been covering all week. Vlad Savchuk explaining where demons come from. Father Ripperger commanding demons in exorcisms and watching them beg not to be sent to the abyss. Allen Nolan on Revelation 9 and the beings released from the abyss. And Ken Ham and Ryan Pitterson debating when Satan actually fell. Watch until the end — because what Michael Heiser reveals about what demons actually are will completely change the way you understand every exorcism in the Gospels and every deliverance session happening in the church today.
