Muslims claim 1000s of early Qur'ans! So...where are they?

According to everything we know about Islam from the 9th and 10th century Islamic Traditions (the basis for every Muslim today) the Qur’an is the foundation for all of Islam, and therefore for every Muslim. It is considered by Muslims to be the the most important book in history, so important that every one of the fraudulent Qur’ans were BURNED by the Caliph Uthman in 652 AD, and 5 copies of that final Qur'an were sent for further preservation to 5 cities in Arabia, Iraq and Syria. In those 5 cities, they would certainly have written many copies of this final Qur'an, in order for the Muslims to read and recite them, so that by the end of the 7th century, there should possibly be at least a few 1000 of these Qur'ans laying about in that part of the world...so where are they? Can we find even one of the 5 copies, sent out to the 5 cities as models for all the rest, or even a single one from all of the 1000s which would have been written in the 7th century? The answer is that we cannot even find a SINGLE ONE! One of our viewers, Bhigr Bond, speaks to this issue when he says, “According to the Islamic lore, the caliphs were devout Muslims and the Qur'an was the constitution of the caliphate. Thus, the Qur'an must have been distributed to every region and town of the empire, since it formed the legal basis of the government. Consequently, we must expect that thousands of Qur'ans were made in the 7th century. Furthermore, the Qur'an was a whole book that was guarded and venerated like no other book. How come we have lots of books from the 7th century that were less popular and less protected than the Qur'an, but not one Qur'an!?” Mentis Potens makes a similar point, saying, “Is there any local independent source about the places and the presence of the Qur'ans sent to the main towns of the Arab Empire, or are the only records we have are the hadith written two centuries later? I think there should be records not only from the place and person who sent the copies (Medina and Uthman, if I well understand), but also from the towns and authorities that received the copies and had the injunction imposed on them to standarize all the existing Qur'ans so that they agreed with the authorized version compiled by Uthman”. Scott Thong underlines this view when he says, “Not only are the Quranic manuscripts late, but they also don’t match the modem Cairo edition. It's almost as if they all DIDN'T have a perfect and complete master copy from Uthman as a model to follow......” I’m afraid I have to agree. Either this shows incompetence by the earliest Muslims at the highest level, or there never really was an original Uthmanic Qur’an. I go with the latter.
