Dad reacts: Mark Chapter 5

The Gerasene demoniac was possessed by TWO THOUSAND demons. They gave him the strength to break iron chains and shackles with his bare hands. They gave him the strength to singlehandedly defeat mobs of armed men with his bare hands. No doubt he killed many of those men. But at the sight of Jesus from a distance, this ferocious sinner did what we all should do. He ran to him. He fell at Jesus’s feet. He confessed Jesus as the Son of God. He begged to be free of the demons, he repented of his evil. And how did Jesus respond? He immediately took pity on him, forgave him his sins, and set him free. Then he commanded him to go home and announce to his neighbors what Jesus, the man he called the Son of God, had done for him. And the people were amazed. I believe there is a lesson somewhere in there. Love, Dad
