Heather’s childhood was marked by strict rules and distant parents — but also by neighbors who piled her into a little peach Volkswagen bug to take her to church week after week. When her life took a turn she never expected — facing an unplanned pregnancy and a secret abortion — shame and isolation convinced her she’d lost any place in the church or with God. But years later, through the invitation of a friend and words of radical welcome — “No matter what you’ve done, you belong here” — Heather finally found the freedom to lay her past at Jesus’ feet.
