Meanwhile, Saul, frantic and disconnected from God, turns to a forbidden medium to call up the dead prophet Samuel for answers. In contrast, Psalm 56 reveals David’s heart in the middle of this chaos: when he is afraid, he puts his trust in God. This powerful contrast challenges us to consider how we respond in our own valleys—do we trust God, or do we chase after other voices?
