Nectarios, a 7-month old Christian Convert, says why he left Islam for Christianity!

Nectarios (also known as 'Ananda', see his YouTube channel here: https://www.youtube.com/@Anandaapologetics) is a young man who 7 months ago was a Shiite Muslim, but became disillusioned with Islam because of the lies he found both in the Qur'an and in what he was told about Allah, the god of Islam. He has now converted to Christianity and thus wanted to get up on the ladder with Jay at Speaker's Corner on June 9th to tell the world why he prefers Jesus and Yahweh to Muhammad and Allah. It was evident that he was nervous when he first got up on the ladder, but that didn't deter him as he immediately began by turning to Surah 4:82, which says "Do they not then consider the Qur'an carefully? Had it been from other than Allah, they would surely have found therein many a contradiction." Nick points out that this verse is an example of an erroneous 'cause and effects' which he terms "affirming the consequence", made up of an antecedent followed by a consequence. The antecedent here is "If the Qur'an is not from Allah", followed by the consequence "they would have found many contradictions". Yet, there are many contradictions in the Qur'an, so the antecedent that it must not be from Allah is, he suggests, a "logical fallacy". What's more, he continues, there are many fallacies in the Qur'an, such as the historical errors surrounding the person of Jesus, or the Messiah, and in particular, the promise that if a Muslim were to affirm Allah, he would not find any punishment, but would prosper in this life. Yet, look at the Muslim world today...it is full of violence and poverty, so that (except for the oil rich countries) the poorest and most violent areas in the world are mostly Muslim countries, suggesting that either Allah is in error in the Qur'an, or that he simply doesn't exist. Nick believes the latter, because the true God cannot produce such erroneous lies, and make such large mistakes. In contrast, Jay and Nick pointed to the fact that those countries and peoples who follow Yahweh, and the Bible, are the most prosperous and the most advanced countries, and the very countries everyone, including millions of Muslims are trying to immigrate to, suggesting that the true God does reward those who follow His will, and live their lives as the Bible tells them to. © Pfander Centre for Apologetics & Polemics - US, June 18, 2024 (107,140)
