Netanyahu turns down President Trump's Gaza peace plan. Trump says no to Iran negotiations. The Muslim Brotherhood's strategy in America. Divided leadership and anger among people inside Iran. A piece of wood shedding light on the destruction of ancient Jerusalem.
Israel rejected a proposed 15-point Gaza peace plan, with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stating that no Israeli withdrawal will occur unless Hamas completely disarms. Hamas representatives reiterated they will never surrender their weapons, while international officials involved in the proposal emphasized that any Israeli concessions would require verified disarmament measures first. Netanyahu also reaffirmed that Israel will prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons, with or without an agreement.
Iran introduced new conditions for reopening the Strait of Hormuz, including compensation for war damages, lifting sanctions, releasing frozen assets, ending military pressure, and withdrawing U.S. forces from the region. President Trump dismissed the demands and instead called for reparations from Iran, citing decades of terrorism and attacks linked to the regime. Reports also highlighted a strong U.S.-Israel military partnership, with senior commanders describing cooperation between the countries as stronger than ever.
Attention turned to a new defense agreement signed by Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Pakistan. Analysts questioned the implications of the alliance, particularly in light of anti-Israel rhetoric from officials in Turkey and Pakistan and concerns about Turkey's role within NATO.
A U.S. Senate hearing examined the Muslim Brotherhood's influence in America. Witnesses argued the organization has pursued a long-term strategy to build influence within governmental, educational, media, and civil institutions. Testimony linked the Brotherhood to ideological and organizational networks associated with groups such as Hamas, while critics of the hearing accused organizers of unfairly targeting Muslim Americans.
An interview with Iranian-born commentator Ramin Parsa described growing anger among many Iranians toward the country's leadership. He pointed to inflation, economic decline, repression, and protest crackdowns as major factors driving public dissatisfaction. Parsa argued that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and senior clerical leaders hold the real power in Iran and urged continued pressure on the regime.
