Christians destroy evolutionist teacher on the fossil record If evolution is supposed to happen slowly over millions of years, why do so many major animal groups appear so suddenly in the fossil record? During what's known as the Cambrian Explosion, most of the major animal body plans appear without the evolutionary ancestors you would expect to find beneath them. They appear fully formed instead of gradually changing over time. Evolutionists suggest that the ancestors simply haven't been found yet or didn't fossilize. But soft-bodied animals do fossilize, and many have been discovered. The fossil record doesn't show countless transitions from one kind of animal to another. It shows animals appearing abruptly, which fits much better with the biblical account of rapid burial during Noah's Flood than with slow, gradual evolution.
