God Never Asked You to Be Them

I wasted too much time comparing myself to people God never called me to be. Why can't I be more like them? Why don't I have their gifts? Their personality? Their opportunities? Their calling? But I've learned that comparison makes me chase somebody else's life instead of faithfully living the one God gave me. The Bible describes believers as different parts of one body for a reason. The eye doesn't need to become the hand. The hand doesn't need to compete with the ear. And I don't need to become another Christian I admire. I need to become more like Jesus. God has given each of us different gifts, responsibilities, and purposes within the body of Christ. So instead of wondering, “Why can't I be more like them?”, ask yourself: “Am I becoming who Christ has called me to be?”
