Lloyd#7: Don't Doubt Islam, it leads to apostasy, & Death!

In the Qur'an it speaks about "Commanding the right and forbidding the wrong", which assumes that doubt of one's religious beliefs is not permitted. In the Shaafi manual "The Reliance of the Traveler" (Section A4.2) it stipulates that a believer is to "believe everything the prophet says, without any doubt". As for the Mujtahid's (the 4 scholars of Shariah), they are not required to provide any evidence for what they say or institute. Their views are absolute, and should never be questioned. No discussions are permitted on what they say, even on the finer points. Believers must just obey and submit to their injunctions. In section A7.2 in the 'Reliance of the Traveler' it is written that there is "unlawful knowledge", which is sorcery for laypeople, and the use of philosophy (defined as the love of wisdom). Those who doubt, according to Lloyd, must be punished by reading the Tafsir. If, after they read it, they are still in doubt, they then are deemed apostate, and must be put to death.
