In Defense of Apostolic Succession - A Reply to Gavin Ortlund

In this video, I argue that even if the episcopate were of merely ecclesiastical law, it would still be binding on the Church to practice it. The Sacrament of the Eucharist is a word of the spiritual father to the people of God, re-presenting Christ, and as such whoever counts as a spiritual father has the right to consecrate the Eucharist. But if the spiritual fathers are constituted in a way decided upon by the Church universally, we ought to still keep that tradition.
