The island where John received the Revelation

Before the Book of Revelation became the most discussed—and often misunderstood—book of the Bible, it began with a man in exile on a remote Greek island. In this episode, we travel to Patmos, the island where John received his vision of Revelation. From the cave traditionally associated with the vision to the rugged Aegean Sea he would’ve crossed to send his letters, we explore what this landscape reveals about the faith, endurance, and divine message behind the final book of Scripture. Along the way, we hear portions of Revelation 1 read aloud amid the backdrop of the island, learn about the early Christian communities of Ephesus, Smyrna, and the Seven Churches, and reflect on what John’s experience teaches us about perseverance in discipleship. It’s a vivid reminder that the Revelation wasn’t meant to confuse believers—but to encourage faithfulness under pressure and point us back to the risen Christ.
