Day 156 | 1 Kings 11:1-43; 2 Chronicles 9:29-31; Ecclesiastes 1:1-11
Solomon, the wisest man who ever lived, once stood in the very presence of God—yet he ends his life worshiping false gods and reaping the consequences of a divided heart. In today’s reading, we explore how a single compromise can grow into spiritual ruin, as Solomon’s many foreign wives draw him away from the Lord. We also see God’s discipline through raised adversaries and a promise of a new dynasty for Jeroboam. The contrast between Solomon and David becomes stark: while David sinned, he always returned wholeheartedly to God. This episode calls us to examine our hearts, respond to conviction, and remember—it’s never too late to return to the Lord.
