Day 294 | Luke 18:9-14; Mark 10:1-12; Matthew 19:1-12; Mark 10:13-16; Matthew 19:13-15; Luke 18:15-17; Mark 10:17-31; Matthew 19:16-30; Luke 18:18-30
In Luke 18, Jesus tells the story of two men who went to the temple to pray—a proud Pharisee and a broken tax collector. The Pharisee boasted of his good deeds, but the tax collector simply cried out, “God, be merciful to me, a sinner.” Jesus declared that only the humble man went home justified. God resists the proud but draws near to the repentant heart. True righteousness begins when we stop comparing ourselves to others and admit our need for His mercy.
