We have seen in the past how Muslims have constantly needed to give credibility to their Standard Islamic Narrative (S.I.N.) since there is nothing from that time which mentions either. The best way to gain that credibility is to go back to the Qur'an itself and mis-translate words or phrases which they find there by imposing their own interpretation onto those words, and thereby gain the authority which they need for their traditions. So, let's look at a glaring example of this in the Qur'an which Murad has discovered: Surah 6:20, which says in my Hilali and Khan translation: "Those to whom We have given the Scripture (Jews and Christians) RECOGNIZE HIM (i.e. Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم as a Messenger of Allâh, and they also know that there is no Ilâh (God) but Allâh and Islâm is Allâh’s Religion), as they recognize their own sons." Notice the words in capital (RECOGNIZE HIM). In the Arabic it is 'Recognize it", not him. So, what do Muslim translators do with these two words? Murad groups them into 3 groups. 1) Group 1 has in parenthesis what the word "it" refers to; which is the Qur'an. So, in this context the Jews and Christians in this verse recognize THE QUR'AN. 2) Group 2 changes the word "it" to "HIM", and then puts in parenthesis who they believe the word "HIM" refers to; which is the prophet Muhammad. So, in this context the Jews and Christians in this verse recognize MUHAMMAD. 3) Group 3 replaces the word "it" with "this", and then writes in parenthesis what they believe the word "this" refers to; which is nebulous but also grammatically incorrect, as that word is not in the Arabic text. By choosing to change the word itself or add (in parenthesis) their own interpretation on to this verse, the Muslim translators are visibly imposing their agenda, which is not what a good translator should do, and is called "eisegesis". The verse clearly says that the "People of the Book" (the Jews and Christians) recognize "it" (which is their scriptures; i.e. the Old and New Testament) as they recognize their own sons." That is what a good exegete should have done, but refused to do in this case because the Muslims understandably need to have some authority for their Qur'an and their prophet Muhammad from the Jews and Christians. So, what better way to get it than to impose it onto the text.
