Can we trust the early dates Muslims claim for mosques?

Here is a quick video responding to a question by our good friend Egzon Nikqi, who asks, "Jay Smith, a very important question: how do people know when the mosques has been built?do they all have some inscriptions on the walls or have documents or, and why is the mosque in India not included in Dan Gibsons website? Our Response: Dan Gibson did include the Cherman Mosque in his book. It's on page 22. Concerning how they knew the dates for their construction...we must remember that they used many different means to find out the dates of the mosques. Remember that Mosques are usually the most important buildings in any given town or city, so they are well known and well documented. Therefore, some have inscriptions of their dates on them, as many important buildings even today do, others are written about in peoples annals, or are referred to in government documents.
