Genesis 15:1-5 Thoughts from the life of Abraham

What does friendship with God look like? In chapter 15 of Genesis, for the first time God calls Abram by name. For the first time, Abram and God have a dialogue. Abram reveals his fears to God. God comforts Abram with sure promises so that those fears could be dispelled. Abram believes God, and it was reckoned to him as righteousness. When we embrace the resurrection of Jesus, it is likewise reckoned to us as righteousness according to Romans 4:22-25.
