Day 201 | Micah 6:1–7:20; 2 Chronicles 32:1-8; 2 Kings 18:13-18; Isaiah 36:1-3; 2 Kings 18:19-37; Isaiah 36:4-22
We see two different portraits of King Hezekiah—one in 2 Chronicles where he boldly rallies Judah to trust the Lord against the mighty Assyrian army, and another in 2 Kings where fear causes him to strip gold from the temple to appease the enemy. As Sennacherib’s army surrounds Jerusalem, they mock God, twist Hezekiah’s reforms, and try to convince the people to give up. Hezekiah faces a generational test: will he follow the fearful example of his father, or will he trust the Lord completely? This episode sets the stage for a powerful turning point.
