Huge problems if the Qur'an isn't Perfectly Preserved!

Samuel Sia Boonleong asks this question: "Hi, a Muslim challenged me to show him a Quranic verse that makes the claim that the Qur'an is perfectly preserved 'letter for letter' and 'word for word'. Any advice? The Muslims are now denying the fact that they believe the Quran is preserved perfectly. So, I just hope to give him a good answer so that he realizes how much he is in a cult".
My reply: 'That's brilliant!' I'm glad to see that your Muslim friend is now pulling away from claiming his Qur'an is preserved perfectly, which is a huge step backwards from what almost every
Muslim was saying prior to 2020, or even just six months ago! What an enormous admission...finally!
But as to your question, where in the Qur'an does it say that every word and every letter has been perfectly preserved? It doesn't, only modern Muslim "scholars" say that. The Qur'an is much more discreet in its claims. Surahs 10:15 and 18:27 really only say that the Qur'an is preserved from any changes made by men...that's all.
The idea that not one word or letter has changed has only been added by current Muslim apologists like Yasir Qadhi (as well as many others), but this will quickly fade into obscurity now that they have finally admitted publicly that their Qur'an has gone through quite a few words and letter changes.
Yet, there is still a problem for them, since Surah 15:9 says that Allah guards it from being changed, while Surah 85:22 claims it is "preserved" eternally. Consequently, Muslims still have to contend with these claims which the Qur'an makes itself. They can either simply disregard them, or try sophistry to excuse them away.
Ironically, since they are now admitting that their Qur'an hasn't been perfectly preserved, this creates two even larger problems for them:
1) They now have to admit that man not only has the power to change "God's holy word", but by doing so it brings the Qur'an down to the level of every other book written by men.
2) Since it is open to human manipulation, it can no longer remain eternal, nor can they hold to the notion that the Qur'an even existed in heaven, or that it was at one time pristine and unfettered by human hands. All of those claims now have to be thrown out.
In admitting it is merely a book just like any other book written and changed by men, makes it so much easier for us to now confront it textually.
Consequently, the onus is now on them to:
1) Convince us that the Qur'an we have in our hand today (the Hafs text) even existed in its present textual form in the 7th century.
2) Convince us that this same Qur'an has never been accreted or deleted in the last 1400 years; that indeed it has been preserved throughout...which they simply cannot.
Our job is getting easier and easier since June 8th, 2020!
