Dr. Sofanit Abebe explores how the image of God, though marred by sin, is tangibly restored through union with Christ. She articulates Paul’s distinctive vision of personhood—not as autonomous individuals, but as selves shaped through relationship either with sin and death or with the indwelling Christ. This presentation highlights how, for Paul, moral transformation and the renewal of the imago Dei are accomplished not by human willpower but through Christ’s indwelling presence—creating a new identity that transcends ethnic, economic, and social constructs.  This presentation was given at Theo Global East Africa.  Sofanit T.
