The Council of Nicaea, 1700 Years Later

Today, on May 20th 1,700 years ago, 318 church leaders got together in a small city in what is today rural Turkey to inaugurate the Council of Nicaea. At the request of a Roman Emperor and the leading by an ancient Christian bishop, the result of the council would become the benchmark for confessional Christian belief over the centuries. Andy and Wes recently travelled to İznik Turkey, the modern city of ancient Nicaea, to discuss exactly what did and didn’t happen there 1,700 years ago.
