Day 239 | Lamentations 2:1–4:22
Jerusalem has fallen. God’s judgment has come—not in a sudden outburst, but as the result of centuries of rebellion and ignored warnings. In the book of Lamentations, Jeremiah pours out his grief over the destruction of the city and the temple, recognizing that it was the Lord who fulfilled His promised discipline. Yet even in the darkest moment, Jeremiah dares to hope. He remembers that the same God who brought justice is also full of mercy. His steadfast love never ceases, and His faithfulness is great. Though the people suffer, restoration is still possible for those who return to Him.
