Odon goes to verses in the Qur'an to see what they have to say about the Qur'an itself. And what he finds proves to be not only startling, but explosive! Verse after verse refers to previous lectionaries, hymns and homilies, taught by preachers for the teachers. Yet, in comparison to this final Arabic Qur'an, it is clear that they are inferior. According to the Qur'anic verses it is this final Qur'an which supersedes the previous "Qur'ans", and is superior to them. Once again, we find that the Qur'an itself confronts what the 'Standard Islam Narrative' (SIN) has always claimed. The SIN has always maintained that this final Qur'an is not borrowed, but has always existed eternally in heaven, and was then sent down over a period of 22 years, to a man named Muhammad. These verses, however, suggest that the Qur'an is as man-made a book as one could find, borrowed from previous Jewish and Christian texts, written mostly in Aramaic, but also in Arabic, and then translated into a 7th-8th century northern Arabic script, for the Arab peoples, and for Muslims today.
