The Apocalyptic Son of Man - What is the Vision, Who is He, And Why is He Riding Clouds, Exactly?

In this episode, we dive into the meaning of the apocalyptic “Son of Man,” why Jesus used it as a title in the Gospel accounts, and what it means for a human–any human–to be exalted to the throne of God as a representative ruler of the world. Drawing from biblical sources like Daniel, 1 Enoch, and the Gospels, we unpack how the Son of Man is both an individual figure, as well as a representative of an entire people identified by him. We explore how this concept shaped beliefs about the Messiah, the judgement of empires, and human vocation, and how it should continue to influence our own self-identity as people of Jesus today.
