Genesis 18 - Three Men and a (promised) Baby

We pick up our study in Genesis 18 which continues the narrative from the last chapter and confirms the promise that Abraham and Sarah will indeed have a biological son, despite their old age. The purpose of this is to carry on the "seed" promise...but that promise will not come about apart from the faithful righteousness of Abraham's "seed." This introduces for the first time a significant dilemma in terms of God's Covenant faithfulness: how can the promise come true if the "seed" itself is unfaithful? The answer to that question won't be fully worked out until the true "seed of Abraham" appears in history who walks with God 100% faithfully and in perfect obedience.
