Our ethics cannot be separated from our theology. What we believe must shape how we live. Listen as Ligonier Teaching Fellow Dr. Stephen Nichols discusses one encouraging response and one alarming answer that evangelicals* gave to ethical questions in the 2022 State of Theology survey. Read our key findings from The State of Theology survey and explore the data yourself at https://thestateoftheology.com/ * In this survey, “evangelicals” were defined by LifeWay Research as people who strongly agreed with the following four statements: 1. The Bible is the highest authority for what I believe. 2. It is very important for me personally to encourage non-Christians to trust Jesus Christ as their Savior. 3. Jesus Christ’s death on the cross is the only sacrifice that could remove the penalty of my sin. 4. Only those who trust in Jesus Christ alone as their Savior receive God’s free gift of eternal salvation.
