The fear of the Lord leads to life, and whoever has it rests satisfied - Proverbs 19:22
Have you ever had that fantastic meal that leaves you feeling gastrointestinal satisfaction? Here’s the issue with that, it is indeed satisfying but the satisfaction is momentary. Because you are going to be hungry again. Guaranteed! This is because gastrointestinal satisfaction is momentary. Most satisfaction is temporary. But physical need for satisfaction is just a shadow of the need for satisfaction. There is not a person alive who does not want satisfaction. Life. Family. Career. Friendships. We want satisfaction in all parts of our life.
Now imagine having your hunger satisfied. Completely satisfied. Permanently satisfied. But the meal begins with fear. Not any fear. Not human fear. Not circumstantial fear. But a holy fear set on the object and person of the Lord.
If you feel unsatisfied today, maybe your feeding on the wrong meal. Maybe you’re seeking satisfaction in the wrong things. You may know you’re hungry, but you need to feed your hunger the right things. Be satisfied in the Lord and be permanently satisfied. In the end, the Lord is all you need.
