Today’s Verse: John 15:21 (NKJV) “But all these things they will do to you for My name’s sake, because they do not know Him who sent Me.” Jesus did not hide the cost of following Him. He told His disciples plainly that the world would hate them, persecute them, and even seek to kill them; not because of who they were, but because of His name. The closer we live to Christ, the more His life in us provokes the hostility of those who do not know God. Persecution is not strange; it is a sign of faithfulness. Around the world today, countless brothers and sisters are harassed, imprisoned, or killed simply for bearing the name of Jesus. Yet their witness only grows stronger, because even in death, Christ is magnified.
