Rethinking the Filioque with Fr. Guilio Maspero

In this video, Fr. Guilio Maspero lays out some thoughts towards reconciling the East and West on one of the most contentious issues of the schism. His proposal is really interesting and well worth exploring. He shows that, in fact, a version of the filioque was acceptable to the East and Latin church in the first millenium, and as such holding to this older version would be a way to repair the differences.
