Self-Proclaimed 'Friendly Federal Assassin', Iran's Offer, and Virginia's Redistricting Case #shorts

The man accused of opening fire at the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner referred to himself as a “Friendly Federal Assassin” in writings sent to family members minutes before the shooting. Cole Tomas Allen made repeated references to President Donald Trump in the writings without naming him directly. Two regional officials say that Iran has offered to end its chokehold on the Strait of Hormuz in exchange for the U.S. lifting its blockade of the country’s ports and an end to the war. Iran said that discussions on its nuclear program would come in a later phase. U.S. President Donald Trump seems unlikely to accept the offer. And the Virginia Supreme Court will hear arguments Monday on whether to block a recently passed amendment that would redraw Virginia’s congressional districts.
