Bill Maher makes a point that a lot of atheists make: “I don’t know, I’ll never know, so I don’t think about it.” But if God is real, if heaven and hell are real, and if Jesus Christ really rose from the dead, then this is not some random side topic. This is the most important question in your life. In this video, I react to Bill Maher’s comments on atheism, religion, the Ten Commandments, the Bible, and whether people can be “good” without believing in God. Charlie Kirk asks a really important question in this clip: how does society decide what is good? And that is where I think the atheist worldview starts to break down. Because if there is no God, then morality becomes whatever culture, government, or the majority says it is. But Christianity gives us a foundation for objective morality because humans are made in the image of God. That is why murder is wrong. That is why stealing is wrong. That is why lying, adultery, injustice, and the killing of innocent life are wrong. Not because society voted on it, but because God is the standard. I also talk about why the Bible is not just a random religious rulebook. The Bible is one unified story that leads to Jesus: creation, fall, promise, Israel, Messiah, cross, resurrection, and redemption. Bill Maher tries to sit above Scripture and judge God, but the real question is this: who gave man the authority to judge the Creator? Christianity is not about pretending Christians are perfect.
