Hatun, Robert & Jay review "MUHAMMAD, A CRITICAL BIOGRAPHY", Spencer's new BOOK

While Jay was in London, Hatun asked him to join her and Robert Spencer to review Spencer's 28th and newest book entitled: "Muhammad, a Critical Biography", which the three of them did for an hour and 40 minutes. Watch as Hatun is surprised to find that both Jay and Robert believe that Muhammad didn't exist, nor that Islam began in the 7th century in a place called Mecca. This is Spencer’s 3rd book on Muhammad. The first ‘The Truth about Muhammad’ (2006) was a synopsis of what Muslims believe concerning their prophet, using the Islamic Traditions as his source, in an attempt to introduce this prophet to the Western world. In his 2nd book, ‘Did Muhammad Exist?’ (2012, then revised and enlarged in 2021), Spencer looked at the 7th and 8th century historical material to ask the question concerning whether there ever was a prophet named Muhammad, who lived in the city called Mecca, and received a book called the Qur’an; a sort of historical analysis of the man himself. This 3rd book ‘Muhammad, a Critical Biography’ is both a blend as well as an expansion of the two previous books, a sort of sequel (though Spencer reminds the reader that each of the 3 are themselves ‘stand-alone’ books). This latest book studies the biography of Muhammad’s life through the prism of historical criticism, something which has never really been done adequately before, possibly due to the controversy such an endeavour will cause any author who dares take on such a task (something Spencer is well accustomed to and refers to in his closing statements). Yet, because this book is so unique, it will, I believe, be foundational for anyone who wants to really understand who this man Muhammad was (or was not), and why so many millions in the world today choose to follow him.
