apologetics
November 19, 2020
On Tuesday (November 18), Hatun and I had a discussion about the debate that previous Saturday between David Wood and myself. She was not persuaded by my arguments in the debate, and so asked me to go through all the salient arguments to try to change her mind, which I did in just over an hour.
That discussion she uploaded on to her YouTube channel DCCI immediately following the Livestream. Yet, soon after YouTube deleted it, and gave her a 'strike', which means she can not show it on her DCCI channel, and has lost the recording of the video entirely.
YouTube did not explain why they deleted it, and after Hatun asked for a review, they replied that it "violated their Community Guidelines", though they didn't explain what guidelines it violated. Yet, the debate which was being discussed is still up on both this channel, and on David Wood's channel.
How can an academic debate about a supposed historical character be legitimate, but a similar academic discussion concerning that same debate is deemed to violate YouTube's Guidelines?
Fortunately, we had downloaded the discussion soon after it was first uploaded so that we could put it up on this channel, and so have rescued the discussion from obscurity.
Let's now see if YouTube also deletes it, and gives us a 'strike' as well!
