#25: MECCA's a LIE! 6 main reasons WHY!

Al Fadi and Dr. Jay review the 6 primary reasons which suggest that the city of Mecca is nothing more than a myth, proving that it did not exist until well into the 7th or 8th centuries. Yet, according to the Standard Islamic Narrative and the Qur'an, Mecca existed from the time of Adam and Eve (see Surah 7:24 which states that they were thrown down to Mecca after being caste out of the Garden of Eden, located in space). Thus, Mecca would be the oldest city in the history of mankind. The Qur'an, in Surah 21:51-71, says that Abraham, who lived in 1900 BC, was in Mecca, and went into the Kaaba to destroy its idols, so Mecca would have had to have existed in 1900 BC as well. According to the Standard Islamic Narrative, Mecca is where Muhammad was born and lived until 622 AD, and that it was the center of trade north, south, east and west, suggesting that it was well known as a trading city long before Muhammad was born there, or during his lifetime. Let's look at the 6 areas which debunk these claims, using only historical evidence from the 7th century and before. 1) GEOGRAPHY: All of the geographical references in the Qur'an state that the prophet of Islam (who is not named) had contact with people from 3 tribes, those from Ad (who are the Biblical people of UZ, referred to 23 times in the Qur'an), those from Thamud (who are the Biblical Nabataeans, referred to 24 times in the Qur'an), and the people of Midian (the Biblical Midianites, referred to 7 times in the Qur'an). Yet all of these 3 tribes are situated 600 miles north of Mecca, so there is no way that the prophet could have had contact with them so far north. 2) MAPS: The earliest maps of Arabia, including those from Ptolemy in the 2nd century, say nothing about Mecca, though they list most of the other cities in that region. In fact, the first reference to Mecca is not until 741 AD, which is over 100 years after Muhammad, suggesting that no one who traveled in that country ever knew about this city until well into the 8th century, which is much too late. 3) QIBLAS: According to Surah 2:145-150, the direction of prayer was changed by the angel Jibril from Jerusalem down to Mecca. This event happened, according to the Standard Islamic Narrative, in 621 AD, a year before Muhammad moved to Medina from Mecca. Thus, every mosque built after 621 AD should be facing Mecca. Yet, according to Dan Gibson's research, all of the mosques he found in the 7th century faced Petra, in Jordan, 600 miles further north, while the first mosque to face Mecca is not until well into the 8th century, almost 100 years too late! 4) LAND TRADE ROUTE THEORY: Montgomery Watt's 'Trade Route Theory' claimed that Mecca became famous and rich due to the trade route, which used to go up the Persian gulf, but due to warfare, had to be re-routed to Aden, in present day Yemen, and then meandered along the Western plateau of Arabia, via Mecca, on its way up to Gaza on the Mediterranean coast, with Mecca controlling that trade. This theory was completely debunked by Patrica Crone in 1987, who pointed out that Mecca was 3,000 feet off of the Western Plateau, and that the 1,250 mile trade route wasn't land based, but went instead by boat up the Red Sea, completely bypassing Mecca. 5) RED SEA TRADE ROUTE: While Dr Crone was absolutely correct, she didn't go far enough, because we have subsequently found that the Red Sea maritime trade route never touched the Eastern Arabian shore, for one very good reason; there simply wasn't any water there. It thus went entirely up the Western African shore, which had plenty of water, stopping at Assab (Eritrea), Adulis (Eritrea), Suakin (Sudan), Berenice (Egypt), and Safaga (Egypt) along the way for provisions, proving that Mecca had nothing to do with any international trade. 6) 5 STAGES OF THE HAJJ: The 5-stages of the Hajj are not unique to Mecca, but have mostly been borrowed from previous Jewish pilgrimages centered in Jerusalem, such as circumambulating around the Kaaba 7 times (the same name used in Hebrew for the cube in the Jewish temple, on Mt. Moriah), running back-and-forth between Mt. Marwah and Mt. Safa, which are the Arabic equivalent of Mt. Moriah and Mt. Scopus in Jerusalem, as well as the ZamZam well, which is equivalent to the pool of Siloam in Jerusalem. Ironically, most of the stages in Mecca include idolatrous stones, which epitomizes SHIRK, but are not found in Jerusalem's earlier pilgrimage! Due to its historical, geographical, and cultural significance, Mecca should have been a well documented city known across the world, yet it is completely absent. There is simply no evidence proving this city existed or had any significant importance until more recent history.
