THE HIJRA: A 9th century Abbasid Invention! (#9)

It turns out that the Hijra is not as historical as we at first thought... The Standard Islamic Narrative (SIN) claims clearly that the Hijra, the exodus by Muhammad and his followers, was from the cities of Mecca to Medina, and that it all happened in 622 AD, thus the reason that date is used for the Islamic calendar. But, we now find that there are no references anywhere in the 7th century for this event, nor to any city called Mecca, suggesting that the year 622 may have other significance, and it does. That is the year that the Byzantine Emperor Heraclius conquered the Sassanians (Persians) which gave freedom to the Arabs. The later Abbasid Empire, who came to power in 749 AD, defeating the Umayyads, whom they hated, decided, therefore, to eradicate anything which was Umayyad, and so created their own historical narrative. It was they who changed the historical destruction in 622 AD of the Sassanians into the Hijra of Muhammad, modeling his triumphal entry into Medina on Jesus Christ's triumphal entry into Jerusalem.
