Can We Show God Exists Without Using the Bible?

How can we arrive at God’s unchanging nature without first appealing to the Bible? By reasoning from creation. For example, finite, changing things—trees, animals, people—come into and go out of existence, so they cannot cause their own being. This points to a necessary, uncaused reality that does not begin or cease to exist: God.
This can be explained simply—even to kids—by tracing causes backward (grass → dirt → earth → molecules) until you reach a first cause where ‘the buck stops.’ Another picture is a chain: adding links never lets you hang it on a wall; you need a peg—something qualitatively different. Likewise, God is not one more item in the world (not a ‘link’); He is transcendent, uncaused, and necessary. Recognizing this gives a firm rational basis for God’s existence before we turn to Scripture.
