Day 277 | Matthew 8:5-13; Luke 7:1-17; Matthew 11:1-19; Luke 7:18-35; Matthew 11:20-30; Luke 7:36-50
In today’s reading, we see the amazing faith of a Roman centurion who trusted that Jesus’s word alone could heal his servant. Jesus was amazed and declared He had not found such faith in all Israel. Soon after, His compassion overflowed as He raised a widow’s only son back to life, leaving the crowds in awe that God had visited His people. Even John the Baptist, struggling with doubt in prison, found reassurance in the works of Christ. From the faith of the centurion to the humility of a forgiven sinner, these passages remind us that Jesus sees us, has compassion on us, and calls us to trust Him fully.
