The Prodigal Son
Luke 15:20
So he got up and went to his father. But while he was still in the distance, his father saw him and was filled with compassion. He ran to his son, embraced him, and kissed him.

The whole parable hinges on a single line — the father saw him while he was still a great way off. The father is watching. The running is the father's, not the son's. Repentance arrives at an open door.
