The Good Samaritan
Luke 10:29, 33-34
But wanting to justify himself, he asked Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?” … But a Samaritan on a journey came upon him, and when he saw him, he had compassion. He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine.

A lawyer asks for the narrowest possible definition of neighbor. Jesus answers by reversing the question: don't ask who counts as your neighbor — ask who acted as one. The hero of the parable is a hated foreigner; the priest and Levite walk past.
